Cataclysm kommer att föra med sig två helt nya battlegrounds, åtminstone som har blivit annonserade hittills. Battle for Gilneas City har vi fått nys om sedan ett tag tillbaka men nu har Blizzard släppt information om den andra, Twin Peaks. Det kommer i korta drag vara en 10 vs. 10 capture-the-flag, precis som Warsong Gulch.

Located within the Twilight Highlands, the Twin Peaks remains a crucial point of high ground for staging effective and debilitating attacks against the black dragonflight and the Twilight’s Hammer, who dominate this foreboding environment. And now, two previous occupants of the nearby city of Grim Batol vie once again for control of the peaks’ defenses. The Wildhammer clan, architects and original owners of the once-great fortress city, maintains some operations in forested outposts of the highlands. The Wildhammers now call upon heroes of the Alliance to help claim the peaks and fend off the Dragonmaw orcs. The Dragonmaw clan, having spent years working to enslave red dragons, once again provides strategic importance to the Horde. As the Dragonmaw and Wildhammers fight for territory they once called home, the Alliance and Horde carry out the struggle to control the Twin Peaks.

Både MLG och ESL Asian finals har precis passerat och just nu ligger arena-fronten tyst när en ny säsong är ute och folk kämpar om förstaplatserna i sina battlegroups. Under denna tiden har fyra väldigt skickliga spelare, Snutz, Billian, Hoodrych och Dahis lagt upp varsin väldigt imponerande film.

Bornakk skrev för några dagar sedan en liten forumspost med information rörande striderna i Wintergrasp, som många tycks vara konfunderade över. Han väljer dock att inte gå in speciellt djupt på hur det hela fungerar för att minska risken för att spelare kan börja utnyttja systemet.

We wanted to address some of the confusion we often see regarding the Battle for Wintergrasp. We will not provide exact details on how the system works to try and avoid abuse of the mechanics, but there is a system in place that can change how the battle plays out.

When one faction defends more than the other, the system will give advantages like the ability to use catapults or siege tanks faster to the faction that is on the offensive. On realms where one faction is often able to defend the fortress and the other faction rarely defends, the system tries to help this balance by providing bonuses to the faction that rarely succeeds at defending.

En liten sidnotering är att ”Rain Man”, eller personen som inspirerade till filmen Rain Man, nu har dött. Tråkigt tråkigt.
